Our Initiatives and actions

At SAS Cargo we want to make it easy for our customers to transport more sustainably and fossil free. Therefore, we have developed a Corporate Sustainability Program, where you as corporate customer, are able to replace fossil fuel with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on a larger scale.

SAF is a biofuel used to power aircraft that has similar properties to conventional jet fuel but with a smaller carbon footprint because of the jet fuels lifecycle. The use of SAF is an important step on the road towards zero-emission flights (see IATA roadmap towards Zero CO₂ emissions).

SAS & SAS Cargo’s environmental programs center around several emission-related areas, like Enhanced energy efficiency, Sustainable products and services and Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) & emerging technologies, more detail below:

• Fleet renewal.
• Right sizing
• Fuel efficiency programs
• More efficient air space
• Collaboration with aircraft and engine manufacturers etc.
