As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement, SAS and SAS Cargo are transitioning our Environmental Management System from ISO 14001 to IATA’s Environment Assessment Program (IEnvA). This shift aligns us with a comprehensive global standard designed to independently assess the environmental performance of aviation stakeholders, including airlines, airports, cargo handling facilities, and ramp handlers.

IEnvA is built upon the foundation of ISO 14001 and is recognized by leading ESG rating agencies, such as Sustainable Fitch, S&P Global, EcoVadis, and SGS, as being on par with ISO standards. In fact, IEnvA goes beyond ISO 14001, offering environmental scopes specifically tailored for the aviation industry, providing a more comprehensive framework to further strengthen our environmental performance.

We are confident this transition marks an important milestone for SAS and SAS Cargo’s sustainability efforts. The re-certification from ISO to IEnvA is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, further advancing our environmental work.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to refine and enhance our commitment to a sustainable future.
