Preface:
On September 5, 2024, Cargo Systems Messaging Service issued a bulletin (CSMS # 62081967) to notify all air carriers, freight forwarders and house filers that any shipment with “vague or unacceptable” cargo descriptions will be rejected.
On October 2, 2024, CPB issued a revised CSMS (#62490006) extending the warning period which now ends on November 11, 2024.
Rejections of shipments with vague or unacceptable will now be effective noon EST on November 12, 2024.
The above will affect all cargo with final destination, or transiting through, United States of America.
Full details about the initial and revised messages can be found in the box on the right under "Descriptions and Information," which also includes guidance on acceptable vs. unacceptable cargo descriptions.
Please inform all relevant parties about this requirement.
