To ensure proper export handling and compliance with EU customs regulations, the Movement Reference Number (MRN) and the customs procedure must be provided in full before cargo acceptance. This applies to all exports leaving the EU, in accordance with Articles 329–343 of Regulation (EU) 2015/2447 (UCC Implementing Regulation) regarding export formalities and exit of goods.
1. Export Responsibility and Preparation
As a forwarder, you are responsible for initiating the export declaration in the Automated Export System (AES) before goods leave the EU. Ensure that the Movement Reference Number (MRN) and all relevant information are communicated throughout the logistics chain.

2. Submitting the Customs Information.
The forwarder Custom export procedure must be submitted in the FWB/FHL or Advice Sheet to the Carrier/GHA, including:
- MRN
- Customs Export Procedure: STC 30500 or Normal
- Export routing (direct or indirect)
- Declared customs exit point
This enables the GHA to validate and process the export correctly and ensures proper messaging to customs authorities.
Important: MRN and Export Procedure Must Be Provided Before Acceptance
If not provided the shipment will be rejected.
